Captive - Chapter Thirteen

Only a few minutes left until the end of 2016 and the start of what is either going to be a much better (hopefully) or far worse (predicted considering current world events) year. But I'm not here to discuss politics or world events, I'm here to post links to my Harry Potter stories.

Tonight, as I said last week, is the last part of Captive. I really hope you've enjoyed it. if so, a review would be greatly appreciated - or giving it kudos when I get it posted on AO3 (later tonight hopefully).

It's New Year's Eve at Malfoy Manor and Hermione and Lucius are about to tie the knot.

I had a good Christmas haul Harry Potter-wise, with a Marauders mug that shows up when hot drinks are poured into it and a copy of the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Illustrated book. I also bought myself a copy of the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them screenplay.

I will be taking a short break as I've been too busy enjoying Christmas and posting to AO3 to write anything - I have just about posted all my short stories there (I now feel a bit guilty that I've wasted almost 2 weeks of writing time) so I need to do a bit of writing for a while to get back on track.

Hopefully I won't be away for too long, though.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Archive of Our Own (AO3)

Hi everyone,

Just a quick post to say that I have started an account at Archive of Our Own (AO3) and have begun posting my stories there. So far, it contains the short Christmas stories from previous years that I posted on FanFiction.Net, and I am now beginning to post my other short stories. Eventually, I hope to put all my stories on there but it's going to take a bit of time.

For any new stories I post, I will give all the links to the relevant archives as I've always done, but for the moment you can find all my stories under the AO3 link below/in the list to the right.

Thank you everyone for reading and supporting me, I really appreciate it.

I'm off for a few days, visiting relatives and doing the Christmas stuff. I'll be back on Saturday for the last part of Captive.

Worth the Wait (The clean version)

Note: Spoiler alert at the bottom of the page (for those who want to read the story first)

Merry Christmas everybody.

Hopefully by now you've stuffed yourself full of food and drink or are preparing to do so and Santa has presented you with the gifts of your dreams, or if you're not celebrating a festival of any sort you're enjoying a nice relaxing Sunday. He brought me the illustrated version of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, so I'm a very happy girl this evening.

In what's becoming something of a tradition for me, I wanted to post a Christmassy story on FanFiction.net as a little gift but have been a bit too tied up with work and other real life stuff to come up with anything new. That was when I realised that the Hermione/Percy epic love story from earlier this year is definitely a Christmas tale and was ripe for conversion.

It was originally posted on AFF.Org as it contained a few scenes that were definitely far too explicit for general consumption. I have therefore rewritten the story a little, to remove the smut, and have now posted the complete story where everyone can see it.

If you didn't read it before now is the perfect opportunity to settle back and do so.

I hope you enjoy the story and accept it as my Christmas gift to you. Also, don't forget to check out my other Christmas stories - Mistletoe, No Man's Land, Seven Kisses and Under the Mistletoe.

As ever reviews are appreciated.

One of my kind readers has suggested that I post on Archive of Our Own (or AO3 as I think it's better known) as they feel it would give my stories better coverage. Obviously, I want as many people as possible to read what I'm writing and sadly I rarely get the quantity of reviews that draw people into my stories however complimentary those reviews are, so I am open to anything that might further my reach. I have therefore applied for an account, which I am hoping might be granted to me tomorrow.

I need to read the rules on what can and can't be posted but if, as seems to be the case, I can post all the stuff I've written so far, I'll upload all my stories there and see if it gains me any new readers.

All future stories will continue to be posted on the various sites I've always used but will also be posted on AO3 and the appropriate links will be posted on here.

Until next time, when it's time for the last part of Captive, I wish you a good week.

*SPOILER*

This is the ring Percy gave Hermione - beautiful, isn't it?

Captive - Chapter Twelve

As Slade would say 'So here it is, Merry Christmas, everybody's having fun.'

It's Christmas Eve (for another 20 minutes or so, anyway) and I'm relaxing with a large glass of Bailey's and a festive showing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone while I obsessively watch Santa trekking the globe delivering presents via NORAD (because that's the sad sort of person I am).

As I mentioned last week I did get my hair dyed blue as a present to myself and I'm really pleased with how it came out. With a bit of glitter spray added to make it even more festive I'm definitely ready for Christmas.

So this week sees the penultimate chapter of Captive, and the library has finally been completed. Now Hermione has to tell her family and friends about her relationship with Lucius.

Next week (New Year's Eve) will be the final part of the story. I hope you're enjoying it. If so, please leave a review or a comment. it's always greatly appreciated.

Tomorrow, I have a Christmas present for those who can't/don't read AFF.Org but I'll tell you more about that later.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
(OR WHATEVER OTHER FESTIVAL YOU MAY BE CELEBRATING)

 See you tomorrow.

Captive - Chapter Eleven

Here we go again. It's Saturday night (well, Sunday morning, just) and time for the next chapter of Captive.

Christmas is definitely speeding towards us now although I've still done nothing about shopping, present wrapping or card writing. This time next week it will be Christmas Eve (Day) and I may very well be drunk and will definitely have blue hair (my Christmas present to myself).

In this week's chapter Lucius and Hermione both have questions for each other - but how will they answer? Check out the story to find out.

I hope you have a good week and get everything done that you need to.

Captive - Chapter Ten

Good morning everyone,

It's another late/early one for me as I was busy putting up my Christmas tree and the time just slipped away. As always I have spent hours getting my Harry Potter decorations placed just right with all the Snapey ones and the Slytherin ones taking prominence. I am so excited by the Hallmark decoration of Ollivanders Wand Shop, which lights up when you put a Christmas tree light inside it, and has a little peephole at the back, through which you can see Mr Ollivander selling Harry a wand. It is truly magnificent and one of the best they've ever done, in my opinion, although I know people have complained that there isn't any sound as there has been with previous ornaments.

Also magnificent was Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which I saw last week and was every bit as spectacular as I had expected it to be. No spoilers as I'm 'Keeping the Secrets' but the staging of it literally took my breath away and I definitely saw magic. I would love to see it again but it will be a long time before I can afford it, and I think it's sold out until 2018 anyway. Hopefully, they'll eventually show it as a live broadcast at the cinema so everyone can see it.

So, finally, onto the story. This week Hermione is stepping outside Malfoy Manor again and going to visit some old friends at the Burrow.

As always, if you're enjoying the story I would really appreciate a review or a comment.

Have a good week and have fun with whatever you do. I hope your Christmas preparations are going better than mine - I haven't even written a card yet, so bad luck anyone who was expecting one, especially those abroad.

Captive - Chapter Nine

Hi everyone,

It's a real quick post from me this morning, as I got in late from a concert (Richard Hawley, in case you're interested - and he was absolutely excellent) and it's now almost 3am so I really need to go to bed.

This week sees Hermione sort out her Draco problem once and for all . . . and she gets some more good news, too.

Until next week. Enjoy!

Captive - Chapter Eight

Well it's that time of the week again, when I should be out doing interesting things but instead I'm sat at home on my own posting the latest chapter of my story.

Sadly, this close to Christmas my funds are a bit tight so concerts and cinema screenings and the like are out of the question - which is why I'm not at the Snow Ball in Edinburgh this evening enjoying the wonderful wrocking sounds of Siriusly Hazza P, Draco and the Malfoys and Harry and the Potters.

This unexpected opportunity to stay at home did give me the time to complete NaNoWriMo early - I have officially won with just under 53,000 words written. This will, hopefully eventually translate into stories, although the one I'm working on needs the first draft completing (I'm aiming to get it done by 30 November and then have a recount of my words).

Anyway, enough of that and onto the story. This week things are getting serious, but who with?

I hope you are enjoying the story so far. If you are I would love a review or even a comment on here.

Until next week, when I'll only be three sleeps away from seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and will, no doubt, therefore be as excited as I was about seeing Fantastic Beasts (which I still want to see again but can't afford at the moment).

Sunday 20 November 2016

Captive - Chapter Seven

Okay, so, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them . . . .

OMG this film was sooooooo good that if it hadn't been three o'clock in the morning, I would have gone straight back in and watched it again.

My twisted Slytherin heart was filled with so much pleasure: the magic; the beasts, the clothes, the setting and, of course, Eddie Redmayne who was absolutely bloody perfect as Newt Scamander - although to be fair the whole cast was excellent, and I was excited that one of my favourite female singers, Alison Sudol (A Fine Frenzy) was in the film.

Obviously, I loved the Niffler (as we all did) but my heart has been taken by the Bowtruckle - I want one so badly it hurts!

And how marvellous was the inside of Newt's case? It was just breathtaking in every way, particularly seeing it in IMAX 3D (not usually my sort of thing but definitely recommended in this instance).

I really want to see it again soon - and I can't wait for part 2 and gay Paris - how long have I got to wait? Too long, is the answer. It's like Harry Potter all over again . . . and it feels wonderful.

Anyway, onto the story and this week Draco's come to visit (lucky Hermione!)

I am really pleased with the amount of attention this story is getting, especially the reviews. It's nice to know that people are enjoying it.

Until next week,

Dx

Captive - Chapter Six

Evening all,

I'm just nipping on quickly to post the next chapter of Captive as I'm supposed to be in the middle of a sprint for NaNoWriMo and, of course, I'm using this as an excuse to sidetrack myself from writing.

It's actually going much better than usual. At the current time I have written 22,314 words, which is 2,314 than I need to have written by today. Let's hope the productiveness continues until the end of the month (and beyond, of course).

Anyway, on to the story and it's time for some lemons. Lucius has come to 'help' Hermione in the library.

Next Friday Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is finally released and I'm beginning to get really excited about it. Obviously, I'm at a midnight showing. Let's hope it's as good as it looks in the trailer.

Enjoy whatever you read this week, and if you're enjoying the story please consider leaving a review. I would really appreciate it, and it might help draw others into reading it too.

Take care.

Sunday 6 November 2016

Captive - Chapter Five

Hi everyone,

Time for the next chapter of Captive and Hermione's gone to Malfoy Manor to see if she wants the librarian job Lucius offered her. Will she take it?

Only a short post here this week as I'm in the middle of trying to catch up with my NaNoWriMo word count. Before 9pm it was standing at 0 words in 5 days, now, almost 4 hours later it's at 3,443. That means I only need to write another 4,890 words tonight and I'm back on target (probably not going to happen as it's already almost 1am).

If this NaNoWriMo is anything like the other 8 I've done I'll probably do about 10,000 words by the end of this weekend and then do nothing for the rest of the month. I'll then spend the last weekend of the month working frantically to get the other 40,000 words done before the deadline of 30 November. Will I make it? Who knows. I have most years. I think there's only been 3 years when I didn't make the 50,000 words on time, which isn't bad going.

If nothing else, it gives me a good start to a new story, although whether it will get finished or not is another matter - I'm still working on last year's story which is now over 90,000 words.

If you're doing NaNoWriMo then good luck! If you're not, why not? Challenge yourself. It's fun - honestly it is.

Until next week.

Captive - Chapter Four

Happy Halloween!
(well, almost)

I've spent the whole evening watching horror films which has made a nice change, and now it's time to post the next chapter of Captive.

The war is finally over and it's time for Lucius' trial for his crimes as a Death Eater before and during the war. Will he end up in Azkaban or will Hermione help him escape that fate? Only time will tell . . . .

I hope you're enjoying the story so far. If so, a review or message would be great, thanks.

So, we're now less than three weeks away from the release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them which is quite exciting. I was lucky enough to get a copy of the limited edition version of Empire Magazine that includes technology to make the cover move (just like the Daily Prophet or New York Ghost) this article from Pottermore tells you more about it.

I hope you have good week.

Captive - Chapter Three

Hi everyone,

Here we are again for another exciting Saturday night, and already we're almost at the end of October.

I'm not feeling quite so loquacious this week so I'll move straight on to the story.

Chapter three, and Hermione has been picked, by dastardly Rodolphus Lestrange, to be part of the next bait group to be sent out to trap the Order of the Phoenix. Meanwhile, Lucius is busy serving the Dark Lord. Will he be able to save Hermione in time?

I was excited to receive a review during the week and would be grateful for more.

Until next week, have fun reading.

Captive - Chapter Two

Happy weekend everybody!

I've had a really horrid week so I'm glad that it's finally the weekend at last and I can relax with a glass of wine.

As I'm sure you're aware a short featurette has just been released about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, along with the news that there are going to be FIVE . . . yes, that's right . . . five films in the series.

Now, I'll be honest, I'm not entirely sure what I think about this news. Part of me is, obviously, extremely excited about a whole new and previously unknown part of the wizarding world opening up which will give me so much information that I can ruin everyone else I know's lives with for the next decade or so, and the news that the final battle between young Albus Dumbledore and his paramour, Gellert Grindelwald are going to feature eventually is of particular interest - although some of their early relationship has already been covered in the rather excellent fan-made video The Greater Good

My hope is that there will be enough of this new material to sustain the series because I would really hate them to end up being like so many of the film series these days - where they are stretched over several films when one would easily have done (although, fortunately, the Deathly Hallows didn't suffer from this).

Having said that, I trust Jo, and I'm sure she has a whole wealth of material just waiting to be revealed - knowing her she probably had all this already written while she was releasing Harry Potter.

So what do you think about this news? Does it fill you with delight, with dread, or are you unmoved either way?

I know some people are taking great umbrage that Jo keeps on releasing information (especially when it doesn't tally with their fanon ideas) and they feel she should now leave well alone, but I disagree. At the end of the day she is the author of the stories, and in the same way that we fan-fiction writers can't leave them alone, neither can she - and each new piece of information is always interesting, even if breaks your heart (even I thought Wolfstar could be canon).

So onto my story, and in this second chapter we find that Lucius hasn't exactly fulfilled his bargain with Hermione - the utter cad.

I hope you are enjoying the story and would appreciate a few kind words, either as a review or as a comment on here.

While I remember, there's another video you should check out if you haven't already, called Severus Snape and the Marauders which is made by the same people who made The Greater Good. I was one of the people who backed it on Kickstarter and I think it's a fantastic film - and Mick Ignis as Severus Snape is absolutely spot on.

Have a good week (I hope mine's better than the last one) and I'll see you next weekend for the next chapter.

Stay safe, keep the faith!

New Story - Captive - Chapter One

Hi everyone,

Today I've started posting a new story called Captive.

It's a Lucius/Hermione story and begins during the summer holiday just after the end of the sixth book.

When Hermione is captured by Death Eaters, Lucius Malfoy agrees to help her escape — but at a price. Can she trust him to do as he says or will his true nature betray her?

The story is posted on AFF.Org as it includes frequent graphically lemony content which I don't think would pass the FanFiction.Net filters, so over eighteens only, I'm afraid.

As always I would be interested to know what you think of the story, so reviews and comments are appreciated.

I hope you enjoy!

Until next week, have fun :)

Worth the Wait - Chapter Nine

Good evening everybody,
Tonight marks the final chapter of my latest story, and a happy ending beckons - at least, hopefully it does!

In case you're interested, the ring that Percy bought for Hermione is below - isn't it beautiful? I'd be a very happy girl if someone bought that for me.

I will be taking a break for a couple of weeks as I've got a few things going on and I want to get some more writing done, but never fear I shall be back shortly with a new story.

If you have enjoyed Worth the Wait, or any of my other stories, I would love a review or comment.

Take care, and enjoy reading.

Until next time,

Worth the Wait - Chapter Eight

Hi everyone,

Just a quickie note as I'm not feeling great and need to go to bed but am aware I'm already late with posting.

We're onto the penultimate chapter of the story. I hope you've been enjoying it.

It's time for Percy to finally talk to Penny - will he actually do what he needs to do or is he going to wimp out?

See you next week for the final chapter. As always I would love a review or comment, especially if you've enjoyed the story.

Have a good week.

Worth the Wait - Chapter Seven

Happy Sunday night,

Sadly, this means work in the morning so once again it's just going to be a quick hello rather than anything more substantial.
I'm feeling quite excited because I've been writing a lot recently, so it shouldn't be too long after this story finishes that the next one gets going (yes, I know I always say that and then it's months before I post again but this time I'm fairly confident).

Anyway, back to the current story. Hermione is about to learn the truth, but will it help?

Worth the Wait - Chapter Seven

I hope you are enjoying the story. Comments and reviews are always welcomed.

Have a good week and I'll see you next weekend, although I'm at a festival for most of it so not sure when I'll get a chance to post.

Worth the Wait - Chapter Six

Hi everyone,

Another quick posting as I don't have much to say (again).
In this week's chapter of Worth the Wait things are really going downhill fast for our love-struck couple - Percy's cowardice is coming back to bite him!

Thank you for reading. Comments and reviews are always welcomed.

Have a good week and I'll see you next weekend.

Worth the Wait - Chapter Five

Evening all,

Just a quick posting before I head off to bed. I've nothing much to say this week, especially Potter-related.

In this week's chapter of Worth the Wait. Fred and George have taken it upon themselves to help the lovestruck couple - lucky them!

As always, reviews and comments are gratefully accepted.

Have a good week and I'll see you next weekend.

Worth the Wait - Chapter Four

Hey everyone,
So I've finally read the Cursed Child and have all the feels at the moment. You that bit where . . . of course I would never spoil you, but I would recommend reading it if you haven't. It made me laugh, it almost made me cry (okay, there may have been a slight welling in the tear ducts at a certain point).

I can't wait to see the play itself, not only to see how they manage to stage it, but also to see what changes they've made to the final version of the play compared to the rehearsal script.

It seems that everything is coming up Potter at the moment as the British Library have announced that they will be hosting a major exhibition next year to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (where has the time gone?). Bloomsbury will be releasing a new edition of the book, in House Colours - another one for my bookshelf!

Meanwhile, I've bought my ticket to the midnight showing of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and I'm eagerly awaiting the October launch of the Illustrated version of Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets. I expect it will be every bit as good as the first one.

So onto this week's chapter of Worth the Wait. Hermione is trying to avoid the twins and their sly digs, but it's not going very well . . .

I hope everyone is enjoying the story. Reviews and comments are always gratefully accepted.

I am writing, although I've discovered I have a myriad number of ways to derail myself from finishing my stories. I don't know whether it's because I can't bear to say goodbye to them after so long working on them or what, but it is really frustrating and I have to force myself to stop prevaricating and just write.

Have a good week, I'll see you next weekend.

Worth the Wait - Chapter Three

Hi everyone,

I hope you've had a good weekend. I still haven't read the Cursed Child script yet, but can't put it off much longer because the spoilers are out there (including in the HP Wiki). I don't yet have the book from the Piccadilly launch, but hopefully this week I can get it.

It's Christmas Day in the Burrow and everything is full of the peace and love of the season, or is it?

As always reviews and comments regarding this chapter or the story as a whole are always appreciated.

Have a good week, and until next time, enjoy reading.

Worth the Wait - Chapter Two

Firstly, happy birthday (just) to Jo Rowling and Harry Potter and thank you for changing my life for the better.

So last night was the midnight launch of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and as you know I was supposed to be going to a launch party in London.

Unfortunately, due to the Ride London-Surrey cycle race closing off all the streets in a ten mile vicinity of the bookshop we couldn't find anywhere to park that would allow us to get there before midnight or wouldn't cost £40 for a couple of hours parking (we spent over an hour trying every road in the area for parking only to discover it was all suspended because of the race, and none of the tube stations are anywhere near the bookshop - a particular problem for someone with mobility issues).

Instead of celebrating with other fans and getting and reading the new script overnight (I decided to read it as I'm not actually seeing the play until December and don't think there's any way I can stay unspoiled until then) I was in a car with my best friend navigating the traffic jams that the road closures had caused throughout London and getting more and more grumpy about not being at the launch.

This left me feeling depressed and disappointed rather than elated and excited as I had expected to feel and this bad feeling has carried over to today leaving me feeling flat and strangely exhausted.

It was particularly galling because long after we got our tickets for the London event (on Friday afternoon to be precise) our local bookshop suddenly announced it was doing a midnight launch (although without any of the fun stuff Piccadilly was doing). We could have gone there quite easily and had some of the feels that attending the London launch would have had, even though it would have meant paying again for the book, but we wanted to do the fun things too, so ended up doing nothing :(

Anyway, enough of my whinging,  time for the next chapter of Hermione and Percy's great love story - what has happened between them since their illicit night of passion? Please note this chapter has lemons.

I really hope you're enjoying the story so far. If you are I would be extremely grateful for a short review or a comment on here to let me know.

Until next week, by which time I may have read the Cursed Child (hopefully). I'm waiting to see if we can still get our copies from Piccadilly despite not attending the launch. We did pay for them, after all.

Have a good week, and enjoy whatever you're reading (hopefully my story is among them).

New Story - Worth the Wait

Hi everybody,

It seems that as ever, time is making a fool of me again. I turn my back for a moment and suddenly another month has passed.

I haven't just been lazing around, moaning about the state of British politics, the (incredibly stupid) Brexit result and the recent (too) hot weather. Absolutely not. I've been lazing around at music festivals too, and drinking lots of wine (in an attempt to forget about the state of British politics, the (incredibly stupid) Brexit result and the recent (too) hot weather).

I have, of course, also been writing.

Today, I unveil a new story, which is quite substantial and is something of a departure for me as it contains a completely new pairing (for me and for AFF.Org, too, apparently).

I can't believe I am the first person in the world to write this pairing, although I guess as one of them doesn't seem particularly popular in the HP fandom there probably aren't that many stories around.

Without further ado, let me introduce Worth the Wait, which is a Percy Weasley/Hermione Granger romance (with some serious lemons).

'Hermione and Percy, one of the great love stories of our time — but will they ever get together, or will events conspire against them?'

As it is very lemony, at least to begin with, it's for over eighteen's only I'm afraid.

To get the story started I've posted both the Prologue and the first chapter:

(for those who don't care about background ;))

I hope you find the story entertaining. If so I would be extremely grateful for a review or a comment.

I'll be back next week, excited for the release of the new Harry Potter book which is finally about to arrive in our lives (hurrah!) - I can't wait and will be celebrating with everyone else at a midnight release party in London.

True Romance

Gosh, we're halfway through another month already (and halfway through the year), where does the time go?

Having said that, it's still another 6 months before I get to see 'Cursed Child' and that seems like it's forever away at the moment, but I bet it won't be long before I'm saying the same thing about that.

I have posted a short (ish) story on AdultFanfiction.Org, which I have also submitted to the Sycophant Hex site Lumos. I will add the link for that once it has been posted.
I have been involved in writing some quite long stories recently and this little plot bunny appeared fully formed and refused to go away until I wrote it down. To be honest it's smut for smut's sake, but then sometimes we need a bit of that in our lives (well, I do, anyway).

Sorry folks, it's over 18s only on this one.

The war is long over and Hermione is doing very nicely in her career at the Ministry of Magic, thank you very much. She doesn't need a man to make her world complete . . . or does she? Lucius Mallfoy might just have other ideas.

I hope you enjoy the story, and as ever I would be grateful for a review or a comment.

See you soon (ish)
