All I Want For Christmas - New Story

Merry Christmas everyone!

I'm actually a little late as it's now Boxing Day here, but I got caught up with stuff and then remembered I hadn't created a picture for my story and so I had to quickly cobble something together (which is why it's so rubbish, sorry!).

Christmas time, of course, means the annual Draco and Hermione fanfic, so here it is - All I Want For Christmas. It's cute and AU as hell, but it's Christmas and fanfic so anything goes, right?

It's good for all ages so is hosted on FF.Net and AO3.

Draco Malfoy asks Father Christmas for an impossible gift.

 AO3

I really hope you enjoy the story and would, as always, appreciate kudos, comments and reviews.

I'm off to do a bit more Christmassing. I hope you've had/are having a peaceful and happy time whether or not you celebrate any of the many different festivals around this time of year.

I'll see you next year, when hopefully I'll have some more stories completed. I really need to stop watching Netflix and get on with some writing!

Until next time,

Dear Mym - Year Seven and Epilogue

Hullo, everyone.

It's Sunday night, I have a stinking cold thanks to the rotten weather at the moment, and it's time for the final chapters of Dear Mym. There is an epilogue, but it's so short I didn't think it was worth saving until next week - and I'm off to Spain anyway, so at least I don't have to worry about posting that before I go.

Charlie has left Hogwarts and is working with the Order of the Phoenix, but with war on the way, anything could happen.

Thank you to everyone who's read the story. I hope you enjoyed it. Comments, reviews and kudos are always welcome.

As I said I'm off to Spain shortly, but before I go I need to crack on with NaNoWriMo. Shamefully, I've been so busy this month that my current tally stands at about 4,000 words, but I've set this week aside to do as much as possible, and if nothing else get the annual Christmas story finished.

I'm also very excited because my BFF bought me the Harry Potter Funko advent calendar, to clutter up my already overstuffed home with 24 miniature HP figures. I have also bought a chocolate calendar (of course) and a wine one, too, as I think a glass of wine each evening is a nice way to treat myself in the lead up to Christmas.

Time to get going as I need to crack that word count, and find time to put up my Christmas tree!

Feeling festive already!

Dear Mym - Year Six

Good morning everyone.

I know I'm a day early, but I'm off to gigs for the next couple of nights so rather than be really late posting I thought I'd get it done before I went - anything to keep me away from NaNoWriMo (it's not going well) and building a rather tricky TV stand that I really can't get my head around the picture-only instructions for tonight.

So, Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald. What about that ending, eh? Obviously, I'm 'Protecting the Secrets' as most people still seem to be so I won't refer to it directly, but if you've seen the film you'll know exactly what I mean.

The first time we saw it as part of a double bill with the first film, my BFF and I sat there in stunned silence, both absolutely flabbergasted (I love that word) by what we'd just seen and completely unable to comprehend what was going on, whilst around us hordes of Muggles put on their coats and left the cinema moaning about the late hour, as if nothing momentous had just happened.

The following night at the midnight showing the reaction was more as we would have expected as most of the attendees were wizards rather than Muggles, and the discussion in the aftermath as everyone stayed rooted to their seat in hopes there would be a Marvel-type interlude at the end of the credits which explained everything was wild and speculative.

I thought the film was excellent although I'm obviously annoyed that it's going to be another year at least before that terrible cliffhanger is resolved - if it is.

Anyway, back to the reason I'm here and the sixth chapter of Dear Mym

It's Charlie's sixth year as a teacher at Hogwarts and Severus has finally become the DADA teacher. Will it make him happy? Will a year pass without terrible things happening? And is Harry Potter really the 'Chosen One'?

Although the story hasn't had as many views as I might have hoped, presumably because it's not yet completed (which I totally understand, I hate reading WIPs that might never get finished) the comments I've received have been both kind and positive.

I hope you enjoy this latest chapter. As always comments, reviews and kudos are welcomed.

I hope you have a good week.

Dear Mym - Year Five

Hello once again.

It's Sunday already, which means it's time for the next chapter of Dear Mym.

Unfortunately, there seem to be problems with FanFiction.Net which mean I can't post the story there tonight, but as they've been going on for what seems like some time according to their Twitter (actually, it says it's fixed but it isn't and they're not well-known for working on Sundays apparently), and I don't want to hold up the story for those that read on AO3, I'm posting there tonight and will add the link for FFNet when they come back online.

It's Charlie's fifth year at Hogwarts. There's another new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher starting, the Dark wizard Voldemort is back but not yet showing himself publicly so the Minister for Magic is still denying his return, and to cap it all Severus has been tasked with teaching Harry Occlumency. Is Charlie going to have any time for a hot relaxing bath with cocoa?

As always, I hope you enjoy the chapter and are enjoying the story. Thank you for the comments I have received so far, they're always appreciated.

This week is an exciting one with Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald being released. I'm off to see it in a double bill with the first film on Wednesday before going again for the midnight release on Friday.

If you're off to see the film this week - enjoy - it seems people who have already seen it are loving it. I honestly can't wait!

See you next week.

Dear Mym - Year Four

Good evening all,

It's day four of NaNoWriMo and my total word count currently stands at 2,683. I know this isn't great to be honest, especially considering it's been a weekend, but I'm not worried yet. There is still over three weeks to go and I don't normally get properly into my stride until the last week anyway.

However, even with writing to do I still have time to post the latest chapter of Dear Mym.

It's Charlie's fourth year at Hogwarts and the Triwizard tournament has been resurrected. How will she cope with the influx of foreign students and has Draco Malfoy's behaviour in her lessons improved at all?

If you're enjoying the story I would be grateful for a review, comment or kudos.

The first reports of people seeing Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald are coming in and while they're fortunately keeping tight-lipped on the details of the plot, everyone's saying it's wonderful. Sadly, I'm not getting to see it for another 10 days, when I get to watch both the first and second film as a double bill, I just hope no one posts spoilers before then.

Have a good week.

Dear Mym - Year Three

Hi all,

It's another week and another chapter of Dear Mym

Year 3 has started and Charlie's ex-boyfriend has escaped from Azkaban and may well be hunting Harry. But at least the new DADA teacher isn't going to give her a problem this year. And how are things going with our favourite Potions Master?

As always, comments, kudos reviews are welcomed.

NaNoWriMo starts this coming Thursday and I've got a plan (sort of) so hopefully I'll be busy writing once All Hallows Eve is out of the way, when I will, of course, be out celebrating. Fingers crossed that by the time I post the next chapter I'll have completed about 5K words.

See you next week.

Dear Mym - Year Two

Good evening all,

I'm back with the second chapter of Dear Mym, which recounts the events of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets through the eyes of the Muggle Studies professor, Mym Fawley.

Has she got Draco to behave in lessons? Is she getting on better with Professor Snape? And what does she think of Witch Weekly's Most-Charming-Smile award winner, Gilderoy Lockhart? All will be revealed.

I hope you're enjoying the story so far. If so, kudos, comments and reviews are always appreciated.

See you next week.

New Story - Dear Mym

Hi everyone,

As promised the last time I posted, I'm finally starting a new story. It is a reimagining of the whole seven-book saga through the eyes of someone outside of the action and will be posted on AO3 and FanFiction.Net. It is generally suitable for anyone 13 and above although there is a bit of swearing if that sort of thing bothers you.

On 1 September 1991, Charlotte (Charlie) Fawley is about to take up her first position since leaving teacher training college, as the Muggle Studies professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Follow her as she gets to grips with school life through a series of letters to her best friend, Mymosa (Mym) Tallisker, the ex-Holyhead Harpies goalkeeper.

Thank you for taking the time to read. I hope you enjoy the story. Comments and kudos are always appreciated.

Have a good week.

New Story - A Debt Repaid

Well hello everyone.

It's been quite a while, hasn't it?

I've been busy plugging away at writing (no I haven't really, to be honest, I've mainly been busy becoming overinvested in The Librarians (because I love Jenkins - I am absolutely gutted that it's been cancelled just after I discovered it), The Good Place (which is just crazy good) and Meteor Garden (because it's so darn cute) although there has been a little bit of writing going on too.

Over the summer I've been working on a couple of Hermione/Arthur stories which have been quite heavy and serious in places, so I was getting a bit bogged down and needed to write something light and frothy to get me back on track. The result is the following short story, A Debt Repaid

It's quite lemony throughout so it's being posted on AFF.Org (sorry, no under-eighteens this time), as well as being added to my collection on AO3.

Hermione thinks Arthur owes her, but will he pay up?

I hope you enjoy the story and if you do I would really appreciate it if you would leave a review, comment or kudos as it always makes my day.

I'm heading back off into the wilderness to continue with my stories and prepare for NaNoWriMo, which is rushing towards us far faster than I would like. I think this years' challenge might have to be my annual Christmas story (I'm only going for one this year . . . at the moment, anyway). I have something in mind but need to see how far I can get with it as I've not really plotted it properly yet.

I have another new story, reimagining the HP series through the eyes of an OFC, which I should hopefully, be able to start posting in a few weeks if I manage to get my arse in gear and get it finished.

Until then, enjoy whatever you're reading (I'm currently reading Lethal White

Twenty Four Hours - Chapter Twelve

Good evening everyone,

I can't believe I finally go on holiday in three days time - I honestly can't wait to get away from everything and just enjoy the sun, the swimming pool and loads and loads of lovely free cocktails 🍸 (hic!)

But before I go running off to pack my case (no, of course I haven't started yet), it's time for the twelfth and final chapter of Twenty Four Hours.

Severus has secretly arranged for he and Hermione to have the day off work. But will they actually get the day off Severus was hoping for, or will Hermione's need to control every situation kick in and cause a big fight between them?

Thank you for sticking with this story until the end. I hope you've enjoyed it, and if you've just found it, thank you for giving it a try.

Any comments, kudos and reviews are always appreciated, especially if they say nice things, as it gives me a warm glow to know that people are enjoying my work. Valid and constructive criticism is also welcomed as I appreciate the chance to grow and improve. However, rude comments and flames are always deleted and reported as they do no one any favours and ruin what is supposed to be a bit of fun.

So I'm off 😎 - see you when I get back. Hopefully, the break will leave me refreshed and inspired and ready to complete some of those stories I've currently got hanging around doing nothing.

Until next time.

Twenty Four Hours - Chapter Eleven

Happy Monday!

I know, I seem particularly happy, especially as it's Monday but it means there is only one more before I jet off for my wonderful week of sun and relaxation in beautiful Malta.

This also means that next week is the final part of Twenty Four Hours. Oh no, what will you do without it?

I'd like to say I've been busy writing and got a new story ready for posting on my return from holiday but I'd be mainly lying. While I have been doing a bit of writing and have quite a few stories part-finished, sadly I'm not close to getting any of them to my beta, the wonderful Mamacita, for editing. There may be a couple of one-shots coming up, but I'm not yet sure when my next full story will be ready for posting. Obviously, you'll hear about it here first.

So onto the penultimate chapter, and it's tissues at the ready as we've been invited to a wedding. Fingers crossed it all goes well. Ah, doesn't the bride look lovely, and those bridesmaids dresses . . . .

As ever a comment, kudos or review is always welcome.

And so, I head off into the night, blissfully counting down the days until next Monday and the final part of the story.

Oh yes, and finally,

Happy Gryffindor week!
(According to Bloomsbury, anyway).

Twenty Four Hours - Chapter Ten

Evening all,

Here we are again, the end of a long weekend, another week closer to my holiday, and another chapter of Twenty Four Hours posted.

The end of the project has finally come, but what is Hermione going to do next? She still has choices to make, but will she get it right?

Thank you for sticking with the story. I hope you're enjoying it. If so, kudos, comments and reviews are always welcome.

I'll see you next week when we reach the penultimate chapter.

Twenty Four Hours - Chapter Nine

Happy Monday everyone.

I haven't got much to say as I'm feeling knackered and need to go to bed. So without further ado, let's move on to chapter nine of Twenty Four Hours.

Hermione's still trying to explain herself, poor love, and she's not making too many friends

As ever a comment, review or even just kudos is really appreciated, especially if you're enjoying the story. And feel to check out my old stories in the links in the sidebar. There might be something else you enjoy - or want to revisit if you're a regular reader.

See you next week.

Twenty Four Hours - Chapter Eight

Another Monday has arrived and my hayfever has kicked in big time so I can't stop sneezing and I can hardly see the computer to post. The heat has been and gone, and come back, and gone again. Tonight I'm feeling a bit chilly but I'm not sure why. Anyway. regardless of all that guff that you probably didn't want to know, it's time for chapter eight of Twenty Four Hours.

Hermione has people to talk to - but she really doesn't want to . . . and will she ever make a decision?

As always I'm doing a quick plug for comments, kudos and reviews. I always like to hear what people think of the story, especially if they're enjoying it.

I was going to join the HP re-read on Good Reads as I haven't done my annual re-read of the books yet apart from skim reading plot points for a new story I'm working on, but having signed up and only seen a post a couple of days ago about how they were starting with the Fantastic Beasts script, suddenly they're about to start Chamber of Secrets. I haven't dug the books out yet, let alone started reading, so maybe I'll have to go at my own pace and not take part in the challenge.

What are you reading at the moment? Recommendations both for fan fiction and original stories are always welcome.

See you next week,

Dx

Twenty Four Hours - Chapter Seven

I can't believe another week has gone already, and that's even with a long weekend to stretch it out a bit.

But here we are, and it's time for the next chapter of Twenty Four Hours.

So, Hermione has finally made her decision (about bloody time too) but she still needs to end one of her relationships for good. Time for her to have a long overdue heart-to-heart and make the split permanent.

Let's hope she's made the right decision, eh?

I don't have much to say except for the usual plea for kudos, comments and reviews.

See you next week.

Twenty Four Hours - Chapter Six

Good evening everyone,

Once again I've made the deadline (go me!). It's Monday, so it's time for another chapter of Twenty Four Hours.

Hermione is going through a tough time and she's got some important decisions to make, but what is she going to choose? And will the decisions she makes be the right ones?

Read on to find out . . . .

As always, I'm making a plea for comments, reviews and kudos. Thank you especially to Sameer, who left me a comment last week. I'm glad you're enjoying the story and I hope you continue to find it interesting.

Enjoy the chapter, and also enjoy anything else you read this week. I've just finished Maureen Johnson's Truly Devious which I would heartily recommend.

See you next week.

Monday 23 April 2018

Twenty Four Hours - Chapter Five

Success!

I have managed to post a chapter before midnight on the day it's due.

So here we are again for the latest chapter of Twenty Four Hours.

Hermione has to give Severus an answer, but will it be the one he wants? And there's discord within the team - will the virus cure ever get finished?

If you're enjoying Twenty Four Hours please let me know. Comments, reviews and kudos are always welcomed.

So it's back off to writing land for me as I'm drowning in unfinished stories.

Enjoy World Book Night (well done you for choosing my story/blog), have a great week and I'll see you next Monday for the next chapter.

Twenty Four Hours - Chapter Four

Oops, I'm getting later and later.

The truth is that I actually posted the chapter very early this morning (so technically still just about Monday), but as it was way past my bedtime and only a few hours before I was due to get up again for work I didn't have time to post the links here.

So, without further ado, here is the latest chapter of Twenty Four Hours.

Severus has given Hermione a deadline to make a decision, but Ron has news of his own which could change everything. What is she going to do?

Enjoy, and I'll see you next week.

Monday 9 April 2018

Twenty Four Hours - Chapter Three

Good evening everyone.

I think I've finally accepted that this story is going to be posted on a Monday. It's time for chapter 3 of Twenty Four Hours.

Severus is now working with Hermione's team but is he causing more problems than he's solving? Hermione certainly seems to think so, and she's already got more than enough problems already.

I hope you're enjoying the story so far. If so, kudos, comments and reviews are always welcome.

Thank you for continuing to read.

See you next week.

Monday 2 April 2018

Twenty Four Hours - Chapter Two

Happy Easter!

I know it's all over now, and the eggs have already probably been eaten (mine have, anyway), but I hope you've had a good weekend full of fun and chocolate, or whatever floats your boat.

Because of the long weekend, I'm late posting again, although perfectly timed to fit in with last week. The good news is that I've managed to get some writing done. Better still, it didn't snow despite the warnings that it was going to so I'm a happy bunny (sorry!)

A change of circumstance means Hermione has no choice but to accept Severus' terms. She's about to find out how long twenty-four hours is.

Two - AO3

Have a great (short) week.

New Story - Twenty Four Hours

Good evening everyone.

I'm posting a couple of days later than I anticipated as real life got in the way of my posting schedule. Anyway, I've finally managed it and tonight I present the Prologue and first chapter of Twenty Four Hours (also known as '... the flowering of Severus Snape' by my wonderful beta, Mamacita).

Hermione and her team have spent two long and unsuccessful years working on finding a potion to cure a mysterious epidemic that has been spreading throughout the wizarding world, collaborating with everyone who might possibly be able to help. Now only one person remains to ask, the one most likely to be able to solve the problem but also the least likely to want to help. The question is, is Hermione willing to pay the price to get the help she so badly needs?

Although there isn't much, there is some bad language and a couple of relatively graphic sex scenes so I think it's a bit too lemony for FFNet and I am therefore posting it on AFF.Org which means it's over-18s only, I'm afraid.

I hope you enjoy the story and as always would appreciate comments, reviews and kudos.

I'll see you next weekend when I shall be surrounded by chocolate (I hope).

Dx

New Story - Tradition

Hi everyone,

As I said last weekend, I have a new short Dramione story called Tradition. It's taken a few days longer than I expected to get a chance to post it, but it's finally up. The story is teen-friendly with only one swear word and brief discussion about sex.

I don't have a picture to put up on FFNet for this story, so if anyone has any inspiration please let me know.

Hermione Granger has been abducted. But just what is it that the Malfoy family wants from her?

This story was inspired by 2 episodes of the TV show Criminal Minds - yep, I really am that sort of person - the sort who can take a murder plot and turn it into a romance. Isn't it weird what inspires us?

Anyway, if you enjoy the story please let me know by leaving a review or a comment or even kudos if you're too shy to say anything.

This weekend sees the start of my new major Snape/Hermione story called Twenty-Four Hours (. . . or the blossoming of Severus Snape)

Until then, enjoy the rest of the week.

The Lady - Chapter Five

It's another weekend and there's more snow 😞 Hopefully, it won't last anywhere near as long as the last lot did.

So, while I'm tucked away in the warm, trying to forget about the bad weather it's time for the final chapter of The Lady.

The time has come for Arthur and Hermione to make some hard decisions whether they want to or not. But what will the outcome be?

I really hope you've enjoyed the story. If so, I would be grateful for a comment, review or some kudos.

Moving onto future stories, I have a little Dramione one shot that I might post tomorrow if I get time or maybe later in the week.

The next full-length story will start next weekend and features Severus and Hermione.

Until then, have a great week.

The Lady - Chapter Four

Good morning all,

I've just noticed that I still have the snowflakes on my blog, but I honestly don't care. I love them (unlike real life snow) and so they're staying - also, it saves me having to look up how to do it again next Christmas (yep, I really am that lazy).

It's time for the next chapter of The Lady.

Everyone is coming to terms with the reality of Hermione and Arthur's breakup. Lucius decides it's time for him to step in and try to sort it out . . . good luck with that!

I hope you're enjoying the story. As always I'm making a plea for reviews, comments or kudos as I really appreciate them.

The story comes to an end next week and will likely be followed by a short Dramione that I wrote when I was supposed to finishing off a couple of other stories. There's nothing like getting near the end to send me off-track, sadly I'm extremely good at diverting myself from what I'm supposed to be doing - the writing equivalent of watching cat videos, I suppose.

So, this week I'm off to learn to make magical cocktails with the crew that came up with the idea of the wizarding pub in London. It was supposed to happen a couple of weeks ago, but the dreaded snow put the kybosh on it. It should be lots of fun although I won't be able to drink them as I'm driving (yes, I know that is badly planned but, alas, I have no choice).

Until next weekend, have fun in whatever you do, and whatever the weather does (please, no more snow).

The Lady - Chapter Three

Good morning everyone,

Hermione is trying to spend some quality time with Ron, but as we all know, things don't always go the way we want them to . . . as Arthur's just about to find out, too.

And Hermione is about to give away a big secret.

Catch up now with the latest chapter of The Lady.

Why am I always so mean to poor Ron? I'm sure he doesn't really deserve it . . . or does he?

I hope you're enjoying the story so far. It's certainly getting a lot of hits which makes me think this pairing is far more popular than people think. It's a shame that more writers don't cover it. Fortunately, I am here to carry the torch, with several more stories in the pipeline, should I ever get them finished.

Anywho, kudos, a comment or a review would be greatly appreciated. Honestly, it cheers my whole week to see someone is enjoying the story.

Until next weekend, enjoy whatever you read.

The Lady - Chapter Two

Here we are again.

It's time for the next chapter of The Lady

Arthur has continued to see Hermione to satiate his sexual urges, but he's not the only one. Soon he discovers he has a voyeuristic side to him and now he wants to watch Hermione with her other lovers.

Enter Lucius Malfoy, who is trying to convince Hermione to leave Ron and marry him instead . . . .

I hope you're enjoying the story. If so, kudos, comments and reviews are appreciated.

See you next week.

New Story - The Lady

Wow, hi everyone.

I know I said I was taking a bit of a break after the flurry of posting last year but I hadn't anticipated it being for quite so long. Doesn't time go fast when you're not looking?

Anyway, I'm back and I've got a new story. This one is called The Lady.

When Arthur Weasley decides to go outside his marriage to find sexual relief he receives far more than he ever expected.

This is an extremely explicit story so is definitely for over-eighteens only, I'm afraid. It's being hosted on AFF.Org and AO3.

As always, reviews, kudos and comments are appreciated. I live for nice words, folks!

See you next week.
